Update: the Federal Government Has Allotted $2 Billion More to High Speed Rail Projects

Federal Secretary of Transportation Ray Lahood has allotted the $2 billion of high speed rail money Florida rejected to other projects around the country. Please see here . With the Republicans viewing the federal budget deficit as an economic Bin Laden, it is unlikely that we will see any more federal funding for high speed rail for at least several years.
