If you have yet to read The Death and Life of Great American Cities by Jane Jacobs, you really should as it is one of the best books on planning ever written and certainly one of the most influential. While you may have read reviews of the book, it is unlikely that you have read a review that deals with the public transit aspects of it - and, to be true, Jacobs spends little time on the subject. However, there is certainly enough about transit in the book to be able to write a transit-themed review of The Death and Life of Great American Cities , and I invite you to read such a review .
