The public transport book of the month
is Zoned Out (Regulation, Markets, and Choices in Transportation and Metropolitan Land-Use) by Jonathan Levine. Although the book, which is about zoning, is not technically about transit, I include it here because effective zoning is necessary to provide supportive land-use environments for transit. It is an excellent book, and one that makes clear just how much N.I.M.B.Y. sentiment thwarts the proper working of the real estate market.
